-Shipping solutions
On most of our sites we have added a way to print invoices straight from the customers orders which have a peel off sticker section so you can peel off the address and stick it straight onto your package saving a huge amount of time with no copy/paste needed. Just like Amazon!
For a few of our businesses we have opened UPS accounts and added a "UPS button" to the order screen so wit a few mouse clicks a UPS label is printed out with the shipment registered via the UPS gateway. No need to key the details on the UPS website and no need for the customer address ever to copied out to another programme. This saves a huge amount of time and of course money.
-Customer support
One of our Magento sites sells products which generate a lot of user questions both before and after the sale. To reduce customer emails and calls and the cost of responding to them a comprehensive forum was added which allows users to find the answers to their questions straight away. Also there has been a handy increase in traffic thanks to the huge SEO value of the forum which shows really well in search engines. A similar effect happens when we add blogs to sites.
-Promotions and customer loyalty campaigns
We recently added a 10% discount for returning customers to get more repeat customers. Quite simple to do, no discount codes needed, Magento knows if they have made prior purchases and rewards them with a 10% discount.

Using Magento Open Source E-commerce Platform (Magento for short) we very quickly got an old HTML site converted to a Magento platform maintaining the traditional look and feel of the original site.
Previously on the client's website individual items were added to a basic shopping cart. The functionality on Magento allowed the client to cross sell their whole product range buy tagging discounted products to the purchase and streamlining the additional purchases to encourage impulse buying. Less clicks yet bigger shopping baskets.
The average price per checkout has jumped over 30% due to the ease of the cross sell.
Also we developed with the client a new way to manage their whole sales cycle from online product launch to automated emails confirming the customers tracking number. All online and offline sales now get handled via Magento and as such the consolidated sales data now saves time on the VAT returns too.
